Moolyka is a crowdfunding platform dedicated to supporting impactful initiatives across Africa. We connect donors with projects focused on education, conservation, women empowerment, and other sustainable development areas. Our platform ensures transparency through blockchain technology and direct material support - meaning your donation buys specific items, not cash that can be misused.

We use multiple layers of transparency:

Blockchain Technology: Every transaction is recorded on the Hedera blockchain - a public, tamper-proof ledger
Item-Based Giving: Donors purchase specific items, never send cash
Regular Updates: Project creators must provide photo and video updates
Public Reporting: All project pages show real-time funding progress and impact metrics

Moolyka was founded in 2021 and officially launched in 2022. Since our launch, we've successfully funded over 150 projects, impacted more than 5,000 lives, and partnered with 50+ local African vendors. We're proud to be growing and serving more communities every day.

Yes! Moolyka is a registered social enterprise in Kenya. We comply with all local regulations and international standards for crowdfunding platforms. Our financial records are audited annually and available upon request for serious inquiries.

For Donors

Everything about giving on Moolyka

We accept multiple payment methods to make giving easy:

M-Pesa - For Kenyan donors (no transaction fees)
Credit/Debit Cards - Visa, Mastercard accepted globally
Cryptocurrencies - Bitcoin, Ethereum, USDC, Solana, and more
Bank Transfers - For larger donations

All transactions are secure and encrypted. No hidden fees - what you see is what you pay.

Yes! All donations are tax-deductible where applicable. You'll receive an automated receipt via email immediately after your donation. For larger donations (over $1,000), we can provide additional documentation upon request. Please consult your local tax advisor for specific deductibility rules.

Every donation is fully trackable:

Blockchain verification - View the transaction hash on Hedera
Photo evidence - See photos of delivery and impact

We offer two funding models:

All-or-nothing: If the project doesn't reach its goal, your donation is fully refunded.
Flexible funding: The project keeps what they raise. Refunds are at the discretion of the project creator.

The funding model is clearly indicated on each project page. Contact our support team within 30 days of your donation for any issues.

Donors pay no platform fees! 100% of your donation goes toward purchasing the items you select. However, payment processors may charge a small transaction fee (typically 2-3% for credit cards, free for M-Pesa). These fees are clearly displayed before you confirm your donation.

For Project Creators

Starting and managing your campaign

Starting a project is easy and free:

Click "Submit a Project" in the navigation menu
Create your account or log in
Complete the project application form with details about your initiative
Our team reviews your application (typically within 3 business days)
Once approved, you can launch your campaign and start receiving support

We charge a 5% platform fee on successfully raised funds. This covers our operational costs, marketing, and support. Plus payment processing fees (typically 2-3% for cards, 0% for M-Pesa).

Special rates for nonprofits: Registered nonprofits receive a reduced fee of 3%.

No upfront costs: You only pay when you successfully raise funds.

Since we operate on an item-based model, funds are used to purchase specific items from vendors:

Processing: 1-2 business days for payment verification
Vendor fulfillment: 3-7 business days for vendors to prepare items
Delivery: 2-5 business days for local delivery
Total timeline: Typically 7-14 business days from donation to delivery

To be eligible, your project must:

Be based in Africa or serve African communities
Have a clear social, educational, or environmental impact
Provide specific, verifiable needs (not general funding requests)
Be willing to provide regular updates and impact reports
Have a designated contact person for coordination

How to verify: Each transaction has a unique hash ID you can view on Hedera's public mirror nodes

Absolutely! Security is our top priority:

Encryption: All data transmitted using industry-standard SSL/TLS encryption
Storage: Personal information is stored encrypted at rest
